The reunion is still going on. Today we spent at the military aircraft museum and then toured the USS Wisconsin battleship

Tonight we had group,pictures and then a nice buffet. I have met lots of people and it is amazing that we have so much in common

I have been talking to david and sarah about the storms tonight. Keep praying for the people of OKC area

I did get a message from pam moser. She is the lady that got married last week. Well her new house got hit by a small tornado and she lost the roof and air conditioner of her new house last night. So the storms continue.

This morning began the 6921 security group reunion. There are 198 signed up to be here. I don't know all of them but we were all in Misawa Japan so we have something in common

We went to williamsburg for a tour of the colonial section. It was fun but the best part was just getting to meet with people I served with. Tonight about 40 of us had lunch at a local Resturant. Then we walked along the Atlantic boardwalk back to the hotel.

Got up and left Brenda and jeff's. We went to home of president Monroe. It was very good. So we have now seen Jefferson Madison and Monroe presidential homes. We then left and drove to virginia beach. We met with Brad. We saw where he works and then we went to the hornet simulator. Ok I didn't do so well. Brian did pretty good. Leanna didn't get to spend as much time in the simulator. They ran us out

Then we went back to see brads house he bought. Then we went out to eat brad and mike Evon


We just had a great evening just talking

So today we spent at president Thomas Jefferson home and home of James Madison
Both were fun and very educational
Then we came back to Brenda and Jeff's house for supper and bed.
Sure have enjoyed spending time with the kids.

Left Nashville this morning and drove o Williamsburg virginia.

Long drive. This time of year (spring) everything is green and beautiful. I don't know how God made everything to work so well together. I mean how do the trees know when to turn green. How does the grass know when to turn green. How do the flowers know when to bloom

I sure am glad that I am not n charge of the world. Thanks God for handling all of that

Got I early and left to drive to OKC ro help with cleanup
What a surprise. I was driving by the Edna cemetery and the aim was not up but the res flow was on the sky indicating that the aim was coming up soon. I looked to the right and the cemetery was surrounded by the American flags. The glow from the sun made the red and white really shine. It took my breath away
Then I got to OKC and helped with cleanup. That is me raking the front yard and washing the roof with a power sprayer. Then Leanna found the ladybug as we were cleaning in the back yard. We both knew that barbara was there watching is making sure we got the work done.

I sure loved that lady and miss her a lot. So it was just fun to see a ladybug while we were working

I am tired bit glad we volunteered today

Once again it has been a beautiful day.

I know that it rained and hailed on those in Moore Oklahoma. Keep praying for them. We are now beginning to hear stories about people helping people. That part of the country has some great people that will always help others. My kid are doing fine. They are just working way too much. But that is what they do when helping others

I finally got my mower back and finished mowing today. Last night I saw 2 Canadian geese(checked their passport and they at legal). Today I saw 3 turkey's in about the same area. ( I think they were from Washington dc but not sure. They had no comment when I talked to them)
Tonight no wild animal life to be seen

Checked my fruit trees tonight. The peaches nectarine plum and apples are setting on and beginning to get bigger

Recently at church we sang a song that said
"we must pray pray pray" that is what we can do for those in tornado riddled area of Moore Oklahoma. As I have talked to my children it is apparent that we need to pray for the people of Moore Oklahoma

Today was a beautiful day. The sun came out and began to dry out the ground a little bit then tonight after church I looked up into the sky. Wow did yo see that beautiful moon.

Almost forgot to send this today sonny judy and I spent going from cemetery to cometary putting flowers on grave sites for memorial. It was actually fun to go and remember our family and friends that have already died

Please be in prayer for those in Moore that have lost lives and property.

They are struggling but with Gods help they will make it.

Ok I am writing this early

Moore ok was hit again by a major tornado. Leanna and sarah went to the storm shelter at Sarah's house. David was at the city of Moore. He will be there most of the night helping with the command center. Brian went to be with his mother in a shelter.

So all the kids are ok. There is major damage. Much like may 3 1999. This time it stayed on the ground and moved very slow.

Please pray for those searching pray for those that are still looking for family members.

Still don't know about Michelle platt. David said her neighbor hood was hit but not sure if her house is gone. Michelle is a cancer survivor and good friend of leanna and mine.

The tornado alarm went off here but it is past and no damage here at this house.

Thanks for all your prayers. Remember God is in control.

Left OKC at 5:30 Made it to church

Came home and took a nap. I was tired.

The corn has been planted. And deer are in the back yard. I think that there are chemicals on the seed corn that will make the deer sick but they came out of the woods and were eating at the edge of the field.

The cats and dog missed me.

Lots of storms around but none have hit right here.

Wow spent the day with ac and virginia cut a tree down and cleaned the deck with them

Then I hurried to Leanna and Brian's to go to pam moser wedding. Had a great time. Got to see many girl scout friends Plus enjoyed the wedding. Below is a picture of pam and jack walking out of the church after the wedding

Got up and david and I began working on the loft. Sarah wanted it stained. We had to do some repairs and then we began staining. We spend all day staining it. It sure looks good. Both david and I are tired. He wouldn't let me take a nap.

Work no play. Makes for not much news.

Got up early and drove to OKC. I wanted to be at david and Sarah's house by 10 to help them with their loft. We spent the day sanding and scrubbing the deck. We will stain it tomorrow.
It rained on me most of the the trip to OKC. It was overcast all day.

Tonight I went with leanna and brian to a Sherwin williams display and steak cookout. It was fun.

Well I forgot to send out yesterday's blog. Just forgot. I wrote it and thought I sent it bu no just forgot. Is this the beginning of senility?? What a slippery slope

Rich thinks I have lost it and need to be committed. Maybe but he is living in minnesota and used to live in sunny California. Thanks to those that called to say I hadn't sent the blog

So today I was able to ear breakfast with sonny and judy. I just want to say that I have the worlds best brother. Thanks sonny.

Then I spent some time balancing my checkbook. That was exhausting. Then I spent some time cutting trees and telephone poles for a project I have started for the fire ring.

Tonight I went to church and we studied about how the devil tries to get us get us to ignore God,s will for our lives

Then we had ice cream. We had two anniversaries and we celebrated with them by eating ice cream. I am going to have to lay off the ice cream -- tomorrow

Mowed today. Then I planted some more trees. Ok just to fill for ones that I lost lat summer
The fruit is beginning to appear on the trees. Should have fruit in June
The cats enjoy it when I spend the day outside. They just follow me round. As long as the dog doesn't look at them. They are getting so they can be close to Elijah but are always ready o run

Sitting outside just enjoying the nice breeze and listening to the sounds of the evening

Left OKC before 6 to get home before 10 this morning. Had great plans to get yard mowed and other plans. But I got a phone call as soon as I got home and went to david heralds to cut some telephone poles and get them to the house

Then I went to Dennis to help grind some stumps for sonny and judy.

I am tired but it is ok

Went to church this morning.

After church we went to celebrate Hayden's 8th birthday. He is growing up too fast. Had fun bit missed mike who is in virginia with the air force

Spent the morning getting a convertible ready to sell. Then leanna and I put it on a street corner with a sign to call brian

Sun was shinning then we went to quin bakers funeral. There were several inspectors In attendance. Also 4 of us were pall bearers. Charlie Thigpen and I were honored to speak at the celebration

It was a beautiful sun shinning day. As we were leaving the funeral brian called to say that two people had called him to tell him that his convertible was getting wet as it was raining. Brian was surprised because he was painting a house in Edmond and the sun was shinning. It seemed that there was a cloud right over where the car was parked. Welcome to Oklahoma weather. Anyway brian hurried home and got the car but by then it had stopped raining


This evening leanna brian david sarah and I went out to dinner. Just enjoy being around the four of them.

Got up this morning and drove to chickasha to play golf with ac. Had a good time just talking and admiring how God put this world together. Pretty amazing when you think that God thought it and breathed and made the earth. A friend of mine often goes to his blue office (fishing) to think and admire God's handiwork Well I guess that this is my green office. I am able to relax and appreciate what God has given me.

Don't forget to tell your mothers that you love her. Life is short and we don't know how many more time you get to tell her that. Happy mothers day to all the mothers

Still raining. Much different than the last two years when it was so hot and dry

Left Kansas and drove to OKC. Tonight leanna and sarah went to a mother/daughter service with virginia. Oh melissa went with them. Us boys david brian Hayden ac and I had pizza and just talked. Very enjoyable evening

Quinn's funeral will be saturday at 3 pm at the Nazarene church in mustang. I have been asked to speak and also to be a pall bearer

Quin was a special lady. She was my secretary from 1990-2000 she put up with me so she had to be a special lady Please pray for her 3 children and the grandchildren as quin will be missed greatly. Pray that God will give the family peace knowing that quin is in heaven and has no more pain.

5-8-13

Had an eye appointment this morning. It took all morning. Ordered new glasses. It had been 5 years since I had seen an eye doctor. He said my right eye is worse than the left. Also it may be starting to get glocoma. He will do further testing

Then I went to the ER to get the stitches out. The doctor said that the finger was healing just fine

This afternoon I went to pick up my car from the body shop and also to pick up my new glasses.

Then it was off to church for a deacons meeting. Then church.

Busy day.

Then this evening I received a call that quin baker inspection service secretary died this afternoon. I have been asked to be a pall bearer. Also Danny ( her son) has asked me to speak at the funeral. So Saturday will be the funeral. Quin was a great friend.

Slow day. But a very beautiful day. Spent time with the animals. Tried to mow but had trouble with the mower.

Had a little girl that learned her alphabet and was working on the letter b. so she baked brownies for bob. Very touching when little children want to do something nice for others.

Watched the thunder get beat tonight.

5-6-13

Got up and took car to repair shop. Sonny and judy picked me up and we went to have breakfast. Then we went to pay property taxes.

Then I came home and decided that I needed to spray my orchard trees. Then I sprayed the inside and outside of the house for bugs. I usually do this every three months but am a little behind. Got it done.

It warmed up very nicely today. Caused the grass to grow but at least we have water in most of the ponds and creeks.

5-5-13

Was able to go to church this morning. After church leanna and I ate chicken from the grade school pot fundraiser. Then we came home and planted a rose bush. Leanna had promised Barbara that she wold get her a rose bush for mothers day. Well since leanna is not going to be in Kansas next weekend we got the rose bush and planted it

You can see that one of the cats had to help us plant the yellow rose bush

Then we looked at the fruit trees. Notice that in front of my hand is a pear about the size of a nickel on the other tree there are little peaches. So because of the moisture it looks like we may have fruit this year

This evening I went to the baccalaureate service co sponsored by our church. At this high school we are still allowed to pray The message was that with God the graduates could do anything. They needed to lean on God for help whether going on to college or not. Good message

May the forth be with you Star wars

Ok so it has been 2 months since Barbara's death. Some days it seems like time is flying and other days it seems that life is in the slow lane.

Wow I came to a realization last night. For the last two months I have been sleeping on my side of the bed just like I did with Barbara so that I wouldn't bother her. Each Thursday I would wash the sheets and both pillow cases. Knowing that Barbara's pillow was never used. Then last night I realized that I could sleep in the middle of the bed. Slow learner very slow.

Today leanna and I went to a tea party given by Hannah Day. We had to be in formal attire. So I went as a Jedi. Hence may the forth be with you from Star wars. Leanna went as a fancy Chinese lady

Then we went to sonny and Judy's for supper and cards. The ladies beat us boys.

Ok crazy weather. When I got up at 2 there was snow n the ground. By 6 the snow was gone. I did some painting inside while it was cool this morning. Then I went outside and tied Irish spring soap to each of my fruit trees and nut trees. The county extension office told me that by putting the soap on the trees that the deer would not eat the trees or rub against the trees

So now you can see that I have not only sticks in my orchard but also soap

Leanna made it here tonight and we immediately we went to dinner in parsons with david and Suzzann.

It is snowing in Kansas in may. Wow
It was cold today. I am glad that I got the yard mowed yesterday. Today I took he mower to get it fixed. Also took the car to get an oil change.

Even though it was cold I had a hummingbird come to eat at the feeder. I enjoy watching Gods creations

May day. Wow. God made this day to be beautiful. Then we have predictions of snow within 36 hours. What a crazy world we live in

I was able to get the yard mowed today before the storms.
