Wow the month of May is over. 

Spent the day doing stuff around the house. Things just need to be done even if you have been gone all month 

This afternoon I mowed here and also in town. So the mowing is done for the month. Since leanna is still in school and has students I will head back down for a couple of days. Then I will be done with my manny detail

5-30-14

Thomas got up at 2:40. Yep right before breakfast. So we went to see ac and virginia. Notice virginia on the floor with Thomas. A couple of years ago she could not get onto the floor. Surgery and pain management have helped her a lot. 

After school I headed to Kansas. Got here with no rain. High probability this weekend 

5-29-14

Brian Thomas and I had lunch with leanna at school  Thomas is now going about 4 or 5 hours before he gets hungry.  

This evening Thomas and I are spending the evening together because leanna and Brisn are on a date. We wanted to go with them but they wanted some time by themselves. Leanna is celebrating. She has her grade cards done snd will hand them out tomorrow. Brisn has been working painting a business in the evening but he finished last night so date night. 

We just hung out. Went outside and let the breeze blow on our cheeks. Then we came in snd got ready for bed. 

5-28-14

Thomas got up at 4:20 which is late  so we ate and then slept until leanna left for school. Then we ate played then napped. Grandma martin came to spend the afternoon so it was a real easy day 

5-27-14

Got up with Thomas at 3:20. He had slept 5 hours. After eating he slept another 5 hours. Hope this trend continues. We had lunch with leanna at her school. 

It rained most of the day. Not sure of the total amount but it is all appreciated

Leanna and I took her car to the dealer to get some hail damage taken care of. We got a loaner just like her car. We will see how long it takes to repair the car 

5-26-14

Happy Memorial Day. Thanks to all the veterans out there.  thank you for your service   this morning I went to a service at the cemetery.  Very tastefully done. Small amount of music nice message about veterans that gave so much for our country and those of our family that have died in the past 

Then I did a few things around the house before I headed to OKC to take care of my grandson. It rained most of the way to OKC. It is so good that we are getting a little of the much needed rain.

When I got here Thomas wanted me to feed him. 

5-25-14

My cat still loves me. Yep she brought me another live mouse

Church was good. I taught about heroes and how we as individuals could be a hero. This evening I taught on encouraging others in the church body. 

We had a rain shower during church but only a tenth. Then this evening at church we had more rain. We need rain. Thanks for the rain. 

5-24-14

Ok I know my cat likes me. This morning at 2 he brought me a mouse. Yes it was still alive so I took care of the mouse and she wanted back outside. Within 2 minutes she had another mouse that she brought into the house and brought into the bedroom. Yes I had to praise her.  But not sure I am happy with her bringing them into the house alive. 

So anyway I have to check each time I let her in to make sure she is not trying to bring me a present 

This evening we to my brothers to celebrate Becky's birthday. It is next week but everyone is going to be gone so we aha a wiener roast this evening. Very nice night

5-23-14

Thomas went 6 hours without food. Now if we can get him to do that at night and on a consistent basis we would be ok. But we know it can happen

Drove home this evening. It started to rain 2 miles from the house. But then it stopped. 

5-22-14

Thomas had a good night. Oh yeah he ate at midnight and then at 6:30. Longest period yet. Only problem is that two of those hours he wanted to smile and make noises. Part of life. At least I can take a nap with him. So that is what we did at noon both of us took a nap. 

Slow day. But a good day that I got to spend with Thomas

Got confirmation that ishmail was released for the hospital today. Thanks for the prayers

5-21-14

Normal day got to take care of Thomas. Had lunch with grandma martin brian Thomas and me. My friend ishmail is being released from the hospital. The Uganda hospitals don't want paid until they get released and then they want it now. Was able to help with some of the costs. Thanks to those that helped.  

This evening leanna Thomas and I went to eat with uncle david and aunt sarah. David was making rice and pork chops. (One of the favorite meals barbara made). David has tweaked the ingredients. Yep tastes just like barbara cooking.  Thanks david.  

5-20-14

Today is the one anniversary of the Moore tornado. There was a lot of media coverage 

Thank for the prayers for my friend ishmail in Uganda   I received a note from his wife that they were going to release him from the hospital on Thursday. 

Thomas and I spent the day just playing. We did have lunch with uncle david then we came home and spent an hour in the jungle gym. His mom wants him to spend time working out. Ok the doctor gave us suggestions to help Thomas with his development 

We are doing fine just enjoying each other 

5-19-14

Thomas and I spent thee day together. We went to have lunch with leanna and then went to Cheryl at David's office. Then we hurried home to et and sleep. Just in time to wake up ac and virginia came to visit then had been to see the. Doctor and dropped by to see Thomas. Then leanna and brian came home from work. We had dinner and took a bath. Now we are ready to cheer the thunder on but will fall asleep before the end. So will have to use the internet to find the final score

Received a note from my pastors friends wife in Uganda. Ishmail is getting better but still in the hospital. Please keep praying that he will recover from typhoid fever completely.  

5-18-14

Made it to church. In Sunday school we studied Joseph. How he was steadfast in his service to The Lord 

After church we had a vacation bible school meeting. After that I attended a piano recital of Bethany shoshana and Hanna. It was real good. I think there were 22 students playing. Shoshana got an award for having practiced the most time. She practiced over 71 hours. Wow what dedication

Thanks for the prayers for ishmail. He is starting to get better. Still in the hospital in Uganda so keep praying

Then I drove to OKC. Will get to take care of Thomas again this week

5-17-14

Got a lot done today. Not everything I wanted to do but a lot. Made myself very tired. Then I went to sonny and judy to help put the pool dome on. Their old one was destroyed in one of the recent storms. Got that done had a good meal and a short game of cards and then I came home. 

I worked on my Sunday school lesson for a bit and need to go to bed soon 

Please pray for a friend of mine. Ishmail the pastor I have worked with from Uganda is in the hospital. He had typhoid ..according to the email his wife sent me this morning they thought he was going to die. Pray for ishmail and for his family as they wait for ishmail to recover

5-16-14

Just a normal day taking care of Thomas. He is so easy to care for.  Had lunch with Davis and sarah. The trailer had a flat so david took the tire off and we took it to get fixed. Well it was close to 5 when they got it done so I didn't get as early a start as I want to come home. So I made it here at 11

Much too lake for an old guy to be out. Had to take care of the animals at sonny and judy so that was part of the problem. The other problem was that I was pulling a trailer and didn't want to drive too fast. Also it started raining a nowata Oklahoma and has been raining since. Wow rain. 

So am home with the intention of mowing my yard but maybe not if it is raining. We will take the rain. 

My cat missed me and wants her head rubbed.  

9-15-14

As you can see I have really hard duty. Thomas decided today that he doesn't want to be on my shoulder bit instead looking out. Well this is what happens. He goes to sleep. 

He is growing so much. I am so glad that I get to take care of him. Went to the martins tonight for a family get together for a nephew that is getting married Saturday. 

5-14-14

Thomas slept late. It was almost 5 when I got up with him. We had a nice lunch with dawn. We also gave a graduation present to melissa Gragg. Barbara and I attended her high school and college graduation. So I wanted to get her something for her masters degree. They changed the requirements and she will not be able to walk until next year. Oh well Thomas and I made her day. She was testing some students when they told her that she had guests. She has always be a neat girl now a young lady. 

This evening david sarah brian leanna Thomas and I had supper in Norman. Thanks for a good time. 

5-13-14

Very quiet day. Just took care of Thomas. Then this afternoon we went to see doctor. He weights 13 pounds 2 oz and is 22 1/2 inches tall. So he is well within the normal range of a 2 month old. The doctor wants us to put him on his stomach more each day for development of his neck.  

So it was a good doctors visit plus he received his shots for a 2 month old. 

5-12-14

Got up at 4 to take care of Thomas  we went to Leanna's school to have lunch with her

Then this evening david and sherry peck and Steve Childress and I  had dinner. We just talked about old. Times  and about new dreams. It was a good evening. David is going to be retiring this year and they will buy a house and move off campus for the first time in 40 years. 

Exciting  times. 

5-11-14

Went to church. I had children church. I taught about john 3:16. Where God sent His sone to die on a cross for out eternal life. Then we had a missionary couple speak about going to India. I very much miss going on mission trips. 

So after church Michelle and Jon day came over and taught me about grace. Thank you Jon and Michelle  so not all teaching or learning is done in a church. And I am not too old to learn something

It was a  windy day but did get the yard mowed

Then I headed back to OKC for manny duty. I get to take care of Thomas again this week. The wind was still blowing hard. Saw an 18 wheeler that had been blown off the road. So I took extra care while driving to OKC.

5-10-14

Got up early and drove to Tulsa for a VMI board meeting. It was a good meeting.  

After the meeting I headed home. Got here In Time to take a shower and go to the lchs alumni banquet met one of the graduates that is going to attend john brown university. Enjoyed talking to her  and her parents.

It was supposed to rain but didn't.  

5-9-14

Pretty day outside. Thomas and I surprised leanna and met her at school. She wasn't expecting us. Then we went shopping. When we got home we ate outside and spend some time in the fresh air. This evening david sarah leanna brian Thomas and I had dinner together. I do enjoy the family. 

5-8-14

Had a good day. Thomas and I went to uncle David's and aunt sarah for our outing today. Had a good time with them. Sarah is trying to get a quilt done so she was busy. David finally after two years work hooked up olets with the city. That enables them to get criminal background by the police officer on the street. Should be better for the officers. It just happened at the same time as he is busy moving the police department into a new facility. I think you call that job security. 

Spent quality time with Thomas. 

5-7-14

Got up early with Thomas and tried to let leanna and brian sleep. Then they went to work and Thomas and I rested and played.  Then grandma martin came to visit and we went to have lunch with leanna at her school. I try to get Thomas out a little each day. After school leanna Thomas and I went shopping for baby things. Who knew that satin tabs were supposed to be calming to a baby. So leanna bought a satin tabbed cloth.  

I am learning all kinds of new things. Did you know that the diapers have a line on them that turns color when it is wet so that you can know that the diaper is wet. Ok call me old. It has been fun taking care of Thomas. It like like I will be doing it I to June. Pray that leanna brian and Thomas will be able to put up,with me.  

Talked to so,e friends about upcoming mission trips. Probably going to be going to Africa again. Just the beginning stages of he trip. 

5-6-14

Had a late start this morning. Started at 4:40. Thomas slept late. 

We had lunch with uncle david and mr mike. Then Thomas and I came home. We played on the jungle gym then right before leanna got home Thomas fell asleep.

5-5-14

Got up at 4 to take care of Thomas. Then this morning we got dressed in our tuxedo shirt. Thomas is 2 months old so we were going to party. First we went to she his mom at her school. Then we headed to his grandma's. We went to lunch with her. So it was a small party but Thomas looked good eating with his grandma martin and his grandpa thompson. 

Then we had to come home and rest. Whew. A good day. 

5-4-14

Had a good Sunday. Taught about Ruth in Sunday school and then pastor Greg taught from Hebrew 4-12.  We did a graduation service at church. Each person graduating from 8th grade high school and college got recognized and received a bible. It was a good day after church I went to sonny and judy for lunch and a card game.  Then I drove to OKC. I brought my electric car to david and sarah. No I did not driv it here.  I put it on a trailer and drove the trailer. Then I came to leanna to see Thomas. Got here just in time to feed him. 

He sure is a good boy.   Not even prejudiced 

5-3-14

It was good to be home. It was beautiful outside. I spent the day outside working. Yep I finally got my soap on the trees to deter the deer. The wind was up so was not able to get the round-up done I will do that early in the morning if the wind is not up

Got up at 3 with Thomas. Had a good day. We went to the art festival in Edmond with david and sarah. Then on to lunch with them and brian. 

Leanna had a good day but glad her week is done. So I headed to kansas. Made it just fine. 

5-1-14

May Day. Wow I used to have lots of fun on May Day. Today I stRted at 3 with Thomas. He was hungry. So I told Leanna that she was going to owe me for overtime plus night time. She assurede I would get paid according to services rendered   Duh what more can a guy ask for. I spent the entire day with Thomas. 

So this evening Diane hunter came by to see Thomas. She assured me that I was not a nanny. So I looked it up and the male version if nanny is manny. Whew so now I am a manny.
