Well the month of April is over. One fourth of a year gone. Wow

Drove to OKC to be with grandson. Leanna has to go back to work in the morning so I am the nanny what is. Hope Thomas and I can get along for the day. I am going to try and spoil this young man as much as I can. I have 22 days to spoil him. 

4-29-14

Sonny judy Jim susan and I drove to butler Missouri to buy a trailer. Had a good lunch with them plus jerry and Beverly cousins of judy. Then we drove back home. Drove through a lot of rain. Didn't seem to be that much rain here in Altamont 

It has cooled of a lot. Maybe rain will come with the cool weather. 

4-28-14

Here I am with Thomas on the 4 wheeler I don't think I will spoil this boy

Got up this morning and decided I needed to mow downtown. Got that mowed then owed here at the house. Then some trees I ordered arrived so I planted 12 trees. Hope they grow. I know it is crazy to plant trees at my age but also know that trees need to be planted by someone. Besides that gives me more trees to mow around

4-27-14

Got up and helped with Thomas then went to the farm to take care of calfs. Then I went to church. Leanna brian and Thomas came for the main service. After church we had lunch then spent time walking around the yard showing them all the stuff that was planted. Like trees wheat corn roses and such. Then they headed home. 

This evening I went to church we celebrated Suzzann and Clinton's birthday this evening 

4-26-14

Wow what a day. Thomas got here at 2 so we slept late. Then we did visiting. We saw great aunt Ethel Carolyn roger Kenny bradley Katy Shiloh the days the kesslers david and Suzzann herold. Wow makese tired just listing them all. Them saw on Facebook about king richard herold. Rich you are awesome. Thanks for makeong a difference in young peoples lives.

4-25-14

It was a beautiful day to be outside. Went to the farm to take care of my brothers calf's. Elijah went with me to visit lady  they had fun. She misses sonny and judy and just whimpers when I drive in. So I spend a lot of time just petting her. 

That is all I got done today. 

Leanna Thomas and brian are supposed to arrive later tonight. Looking forward to that

4-24-14

Ok it was supposed to rain this morning. It didn't. Then they changed the forcast to say it would rain this afternoon. Well it did and we got about 2 tenth of an inch. At my brothers he got 3/4 inch. I needed to go take care of his calfs 

Also went to a grade school track meet. It was fun to watch many of the young people from church. 

4-23-14

Decided that I had to do laundry  then I mowed the yard. It seems that the yard needs mowing every week. This afternoon I helped get ready for the Awana carnival. At the awards ceremony the boy did a good job of memorizing their verses. Then we went outside and started the carnival. It was a lot of fun for the boys and their parents even seemed to enjoy it. We gave the children lots of sugar. They may have a hard time going to sleep tonight. 

The Awana year is over. 

4-22-14

Started the day at 3:15. Got to take care of my grandson so leanna could sleep. Then I had a doctors appointment. The lab people could not believe that I would drive from kansas to Oklahoma City to see the doctor. 

Well I spent 3 hours in the doctors office. She was adamant that she do a complete check up because she will only see me about once a year unless something goes wrong. Like break a couple of ribs. She did look at the ribs and said they would hurt. Duh. I knew that. Serious I have a very good doctor and am glad to drive to be able to have her as my doctor

She wrote a prescription for some medicine for me to pick up. SOS I went to the pharmacy and the lady said that my insurance would only pay for 30 days. I told her I would go ahead and pay for the other 60 days. She said that would be $800. But with insurance it would be $8 for 30 days 

I have been blessed by having a good doctor and by having insurance that takes care of my prescription needs 

I then drove home to kansas. It is always good to go see david sarah leanna brian and Thomas but also good to get back home

When I drove home I noticed  that the corn in the field was coming up. It looks so nice to see green corn in straight rows growing

4-21-14

Spent the day with leanna and Thomas. Did have lunch with david  then came back home and just hung out with Thomas . 

It did rain a little bit but not much. 

4-20-14

Happy birthday leanna. 

Got up early and drove to Oklahoma City. Made it in time for church. Thomas was going to be dedicated in church today. Nice service. Then we went out to eat.  This evening mike evon flew into OKC for a class at tinker Air Force base. So we got together with him and had supper  at david and sarah with ac and virginia. 

I have a doctors appt this week so will stay here until then and after that drive home

Pretty slow day. The day was a beautiful day outside. 

19 years ago barbara and I were planning on celebrating Blake muchmore  and Leanna's  birthday. But there was a bomb that went off and we didn't get to celebrate as we wanted. Please remember those that lost their lives and also the survivors that were changed forever from the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995.  Tonight after the service at church I ate with an eighth grader. Eating with him reminded me of my plans of 19 years ago. It is funny how little things bring back thoughts we  thought we had forgotten. Thanks to Blake and also to hunter for the memories.

Remember tomorrow is resurrection Sunday.

Ok at 3:40 I was in OKC holding my grandson. When his mother woke up at 7:30 I gave him to her and headed to Altamont. 

Very much enjoyed getting to be around Thomas. He is growing a lot 

So the weather her was great. No wind just a nice day. 

Went to church tonight and listened to redemption call  (that is a music group). Very good.

Drove to OKC to see Thomas. He has grown a lot

Then we took Leanna out for Mexican food for her birthday. Leanna Thomas brian david sarah melissa Hayden ac and virginia.  Had a great time.

Rested most of the morning

This afternoon I mowed the yard. The wind was blowing hard but wanted to get yard mowed

Went to Awana this evening. Had a good meeting

Tax day 

Sonny and judy called and said they would be going to pay property tax and then go to joplin. So I went with them and paid my property tax then went to joplin. So just spent the day shopping with them

Didn't buy anything. 

Got up early this to see the eclipse  kind of cool. Red moon

Don't forget tomorrow is last day to file taxes. 

Ok what is wrong with this picture. Yesterday I was driving my car with the top down today I was driving my car and it was snowing. Now the snow did not stick to the ground because it was so warm. But it snowed. Yes I had the top up 

I know if I lived in Minnesota like some people you still have snow on the ground. Sorry I complained what was I thinking. 

Don't forget to get up at 3 and watch the eclipse

Went to church came home and took a nap

Watched the final round of the masters

Had storm blow through. 80 mile and hour winds and the possibility if gold ball size hail. No hail. And wind lasted less than 5 minutes

Made it back to church this evening

Looking forward to a good week

Oh big news is that I slept on my bed last night. Yep graduated from the chair to a bed. The ribs did ok  so will try bed again this evening

Had a busy day. Went to an auction this morning then to an appreciation day at the coop.   Then I came home to take a nap

This evening went to church for a birthday party for Matt herold. Can you believe he is 34. Wow. Then we played crazy bridge with everyone. It was fun and I think that Matt really enjoyed it

I forgot to tell you Thomas is now 9 and a half pounds and 21 inches long. So he is growing fine.

Another beautiful day. Worked on projects until time to go to sonny and judy. Nice lunch. You will have to ask judy what the score was   But I feel lucky. 

Came home and looked thru pictures of when we were in Japan. Wanted to find picture of mr peck holding Leanna 43 years ago. But didn't find one of him but found one of me holding Leanna. Yep I had long dark hair. 

Also found a Picture of Leanna about Thomas age.

Beautiful day. Drove to joplin to get started on Christmas presents. Ok I know it is only April but I work kind of slow. Top down because it was such a nice day 

So maybe I can get some presents done. 

Talked to a good friend and was reminded that resurrection Sunday is coming. 

4-9-14

It was a beautiful day outside. The air conditioner guy came by to talk to me about the duplex in Altamont. Hopefully the basement guy will call soon and get started building the basement 

So this afternoon I went outside and picked up sticks that had fallen during the winds. Tried not to do too much. At church I noticed that I was feeling the effects of picking up sticks. So I have to do even less. 

 We will be having a revival at church on Friday Saturday and Sunday of Easter. Would love to see you come to church. Looking forward to the message and the special music at the services.

Had prayer meeting this morning at 6 for the upcoming revival. Then I came home a took a nap. 

Didn't feel well this afternoon so just rested. Then took a 4 wheeler ride with my dog. Roger and jerry finished planting corn on the field north of the house  so all fields have crops in them. Will see how the rain affects the crops 

Finished off the day with a baccalaureate meeting to get ready for the upcoming service in May.

Didn't sleep well. Had cramps. So I decided that I needed to do something physical. So I mowed the yard. The yard needed it. The yard looks good. 

Then I took a nap 

Feel better so hope I sleep better tonight.

Went to church and taught about Abraham  then in church the pastor taught about Abraham. Wow I guess that we need to know about how Abraham had faith and followed what God told himto do

Then this evening went to small groups at the Wilson's. After the lesson they surprised me with a mini shower for my grandson. They said I would need stuff at my house when Thomas came so these items were for Altamont visits. What a surprise. Thanks to the Wilson's, Banzet cooper,s Cerne,s and Carlton's. You treat me way too nice.

Got sarah off to teach a sewing class then I took a nap

This afternoon I went to a pilkimgton family reunion. It was good to talk to people who knew my great grandma on mom's side. Then I came home and got ready for Sunday school

Did easy errand in Altamont. Then went to sonny and judy for lunch

Sarah calked at 4 and said that nancy was going yo drop her at sonny snd judy so I went back up to teir house. Thus time I took supper to them. Then we'd played card snd the girls beat us

Becky jay Erica and Elena arrived just as we were leaving so we got yo talk to them for a little bit. So overall a good day. 

Still having pain from the broken ribs. I know I need yo be patient. 

They installed fiber optics on the road in front of he house with a control box at my drive way so that later I can be hooked up to fiber optics

Spent the day with leanna and Thomas. Had lunch with david and sarah

Then late this afternoon sarah and I headed to Altamont. She is going to be teaching a sewing class in Altamont this weekend so she brought me home. Thanks for driving sarah

Oh forgot to tell you last night. Remember that I has asked you to pray for the pecks as they neede to make decisions about her parents. Well shrry's mom is in a nursing home in corn Oklahoma and is doing much better. Her dad is still having trouble with his knees and bees surgery but he is staying on the farm working his cattle. Thanks for your prayers

It was great to spend time holding Thomas. He is growing and I need to make sure I see him often

Spent the day with Thomas. I could get used to this. Did a little shopping with Thomas 

David is finally getting the police department into the new building. Very stressful

Them this even ending with meeting Jennifer sherry and david peck at braums for ice cream great time and great memories 

Almost 44 years ago david peck held Leanna in japan. Today he held Leanna's son Thomas

Suzzann picked me up this morning and drove me to Tulsa. Thanks Suzzann. We met ac and virginia there and had lunch the they drove me to leanna and brian to see Thomas. Thanks you both are awesome

Ok he has grown 1/3 more than at birth. 4 weeks ago. I enjoyed holding him and feeding him. 

Thanks to all of you for the prayers. Ribs still ache but can't work so thought I would hold that grandson.
