Church was good.

Ok they took phoebe day to witicha last night. As soon as they got her there they did. Spinal tap. Somehow that relaxed her and she was able to sleep and breath. Today at 4 she sucked a bottle. Also she is not on any oxygen at the witicha hospital.

Michelle developed a fever nd they are treating that in the parsons hospital. They think she I'll be releases Monday. If so she will head to witicha to be with Jon and phoebe. Thanks for the prayers for the day family

Be in prayer for pastor Greg. He and his wife will be leaving for India July 8 for two weeks

6-29-13

Pretty slow day. Got up and prepared breakfast for brian and leanna. Then we just talked and relaxed. After lunch they left to go home

I went to parsons to visit Michelle day in the hospital. She had a baby girl Friday morning.

The baby is have trouble breathing and the doctors are wanting to transfer the baby the Wichita. Please be in pray for Jon, Michelle, baby, and the children at home

Spent the day getting ready for a weiner roast/ fish fry/ ice cream social/ gospel singing
It was hot but we started putting chairs on the shade. The wind was blowing so it wasn't bad. We had a few hiccups but overall we had a good time. The food was great and the music was really good.

Had to purchase a new battery for the excursion. It only has 179,000 miles and this is the first battery change. Don't think I will complain about the durability of that battery

I mowed this afternoon. Today was very warm and very little breeze.

Got invited to the senior citizen center for a free lunch. Yep I went. Was able to help ray grill the burgers.

Going to have a weiner roast/fish fry/ice cream social/sing along here at the noise tomorrow night. So all are welcome. Bring your own chair.

Got up at 4 and started laundry. By 2 I had the laundry done and the house cleaned. Then I read the rest of the afternoon It was hot out so I took it easy

Worked on building seating around my fire ring. I had a couple of telephone poles so I cut them up just like Lincoln logs. So now about 40 people can sit around the fire ring. And sing songs

Then I went to Joplin with sonny and judy. We did a little shopping but mostly we took the items to the recycle place. That was the real reason we went to Joplin

Was at sonny and Judy's at 7 this morning. We needed to cut up a tree that was blown down by the recent wind. We spent all day cutting and splitting

Today was sonny and Judy's 46 wedding anniversary. Very romantic to spend the day cutting down a tree. Whew I am tired but glad we were able to get the tree cut up

Busy day today. I did the children's message at church. Had fun with them. After church I drove to the Methodist church in Dennis for a goodby luncheon for their pastor. The lunch was good. About every 3 years the church changes pastors. So July 1 they will have a new pastor

Then I came home and roger was combining the wheat. S as I sit here the wheat is cut for this year. Tonight. I went to church and the message was on Daniel. Daniel was honorable and steadfast in his love for God. Thanks for setting such a good example

Went to a class at coffeyville community college in Columbus. It was all day. So leanna left when I did so she could attend the funeral of dan hardy. My class went well. When I got done with the class I went to sonny and Judy's to eat and play cards. Mason and I did very well in cards tonight.

It was a long day and I need to get ready for church tomorrow. I have the lesson for the children in the morning

Summer is officially here. Finished mowing the yard today. No problems starting the mower.
Leanna finished going through boxes in the garage

Had lunch with dwight and nancy and 4 of their children and 5 of their grandchildren. They sure are cute. The grandchildren not Dwight and nancy.

Then we came home and took a nap. Naps are mandatory at this house

6-20-13

Worked hard in the yard this morning. Leanna worked in the garage. Then this afternoon I was going to mow. Well the mower wouldn't start. I tried everything I knew. Remember I am not a mechanic. Nor do I want to be a mechanic. But I check the gas supply lines I check the spark plug. Simple things. Then I loaded the mower up and took it to mr Markley Well as luck would have it Chris the mechanic was there. He go on the trailer. No on the mower and turned the key and it started. Duh. I did that for over an hour. Oh it starts

So I brought it back home and mowed. Didn't get done because it took me so long to "fix" the mower. Maybe by having it on the trailer I jarred something. Anyway it starts now

Will finish tomorrow. I think.

Worked in the yard while leanna worked on separating school stuff in the garage.

Had lunch with sonny judy and mason. We talked about our trips.

Tonight we went to just north of Cherokee to listen to a speaker on bible prophecy. We took the church van 13 of us went. It was good. While
there saw cousin Norman and Cleora they go to that church.

Made it home in time to go to bed. Whew. Busy day

Leanna worked in the garage. I just watched her and played in the yard

A good friend dan hardy died last night he had been in failing health so it was no surprise please keep his family in your prayers

Also we were planning on having a wiener roast and gospel singing here at the house next Friday. The new disciples were to sing. Their piano player and singer was in the hospital getting a stint and was supposed to be released today. He died early this morning. Again pray for the tommy farmer family from Bartlesville

So it looks like I am going to be singing. No no just kidding. We will have an individual do singing that knows about singing. Definitely not me

Sometimes mans plans just don't work. We just have to rely on God for everything

It rained most of the night. So it was a kind of lazy day. Spent the morning and early afternoon reading.

Then leanna came and we worked in the garage sorting her boxes. Definitely broke sweat as we moved the boxes

Leanna is here to go through the ones and get ready for school that starts in July

Went to church. Then had lunch with david sarah and leanna. Then I needed a nap. After a nap I helped david for some Atherton son bonding on the roof. Just a small job that only took 10 minutes. Then we had a fathers day "grill out" of pork chops. Ac n virginia came in. It is always good to spend time with them.

After they all left I left to drive home. I just arrived in Altamont.

Whew what a busy day
Had an eye doctor appointment this morning. Then I drove with the top down to OKC. Joanna and Larry had a 50 th anniversary celebration this afternoon. That was fun.
Then I drove to sterling to watch Hayden play ball. That was fun as it reminded me of years ago when I first started playing league ball

Today is flag day. We need to remember why we honor our flag.
Didn't get a lot accomplished today.
Altamont dictated the new community building at the park

Also 850 bicycle riders rode through the city on their way to Oswego. Today they only rode 81 miles. Because of he heat many were stopping to get ice water. Praying they continue to have a safe trip

Had a good day. Got up and did the laundry necessary things like that need to be done on schedule. I have found that I am so OCD that it is not even funny.

Went to sonny and Judy's for Elijah to play with lady. They had a good time. I mowed while there then I checked on the cows and horses

Then I went to the farm and mowed and checked on the cows. They we in the creek and shade at both places. Then I came home and took a nap. Needed that

Then I mowed here.

As I was eating supper I saw that roger was spraying the corn across the road. He was spraying for weeds. He will spray my corn tomorrow

It got hot today. I turned the air conditioner on.

Got up this morning and realized that a friend was having surgery on OKC today. So I headed to OKC. Got there in time to have lunch with david. Leanna was with her mother in law where she was having cataract surgery. After lunch I picked Leanna up and we went to the hospital to be with Helen As Drue was having back surgery. At 5:30 the doctor came out and said that the surgery was very successful. Lots of prayers for Drue Helen and the medical staff.

So now I am back home Am glad that I went.

Sometimes it is important to be with friends as they are facing difficult times. I know that while I was taking care of barbara there were lots of friends that helped get me through the days and nights. Just trying to pay back to others for the kindness shown to me and my family

6-10-13

Spent the morning on the computer and telephone. Then I went outside and worked on my soap. I put new soap bars on my nut and fruit trees. So far irish spring soap is a deer retardant. That and a dog. Elijah barks at them at night I see tracks at the edge of the field nut so far not at the trees. So I am the only farmer raising boxes of Irish spring.

Then I had a dentist appointment. It had been 2 years since I saw the dentist. He told me I only have to brush the teeth that I want o keep. Guess I will keep brushing.

Then I took Elijah up to visit lady ( my brothers dog). They have a great running together Of course Elijah s always wet from the pond when we come home. Yes I have a blanket for such cases.

Had a good day. Went to church and learned about Peter walking on water after Jesus told him to come walk on the water we just need to have faith.

Had lunch with david Suzzann and Matt.

After church tonight several of us played games. Very relaxing time.

Whew. Got up and went to enjoy the festivities of flag day. Went and watched jump rope contest. Finding money in a stack of hay. Chalk on main street. Parade. Enjoyed the morning. Then I came home and finished mowing the yard. Then I took Elijah to the farm to play with lady. They had a good time so I decided to mow for my brother. So I got their yard mowed. Then I went to the farm and mowed it also. Yep did a lot of mowing but at least the yards are mowed so if it rains at least they are mowed this week

Got up early and sprayed my fruit trees. There was no wind at sunup so it was a good time to spray

Then I took a nap. I made phone calls to medical people this afternoon. I signed up for Medicare earlier this year. Well I received notice from 4 different medical services that I need to pay them because Medicare wouldn't pay them. After talking to the various offices they are working on it and I feel that Medicare will pay.

This evening I went to the relay for life in Parsons. I walked a lap with a man who had cancer 20 years ago. He said that he had lost his wife and that it was hard. But not as hard as when he
Oat his daughter. He said that he had to just keep going.

So bottom line no matter how difficult of a time we have with life (losing a spouse in particular) there is always someone else that has traveled that road already or maybe even a harder road. Thank you God for always taking care of me

69 years ago was D day. Thank you all who gave their all so that we could have freedom

Drove to Altamont today. We have had bout 14 inches of rain this week. Is good to be home. My dog and cats missed me. Will probably have one of the cats sleep with me tonight.

The weather was great to drive home

Got up and left Jackson tenn at 6:30. It was raining hard. We drove to Memphis and had breakfast with a friend of Brian's. Then we drove to OKC. The trip is over. Had a good time got to see a lot and visit a lo of friends and even made some new friends

But I am glad to be headed home it will be good to be in my own bed. Tonight I will be staying at leanna and Brian's.

Left after breakfast for Knoxville. For ro have lunch with rich and Debbie and girls
Always enjoy spending time with them

The we drove to Jackson tenn to visit a friend of Brian's.

Will spend the night here then drive on to OKC tomorrow

Well 3 months ago barbara died. I miss that lady. Can't believe I have made 2 months.

Left Williamsburg to drive to doe rover gorge. Good friends of ours from San veto Italy live there at a Christian camp. So we made it to bob and Nancy's and was able to see the camp. Today is the first day of camp so it was a busy time for all the Staff and kids

Had a good time just talking to bob and nancy. Stayed up way late for me just talking

Went to church at tidewater bible church. Charlie Stillion and I spoke about village ministries. I very much enjoyed that. Then we went out to eat. Then we went back to spend the rest of the day with the sages.

Wow

Got up and went to Jamestown Settlement. It was really interesting. Then we headed back to virginia beach for the banquet for my military reunion.
it took us 3 hours for what would normally take 1 hour. Major traffic jams. Made me appreciate the traffic in Altamont.

Very touching. They honored the pow's. The mia's and the Kia's. Then we had a flag folding ceremony Then we had a speaker that has been in the security group for 30 years as a military guy then he went to the civil side doing then same thing. He gave us insight not what is going on now I the field.

I think a good time was had by all
