Valentine's day

Day 4 of radiation. Our days seem to be consumed with radiation and chemo treatments. The people at the radiation enjoy the music that barbara brings to play while she is receiving radiation. I spend the time reading. Then we go find one geo-cache. This makes barbara think and also gives her something to look forward to. She also has to get out of the car and help me look for the sites. (unless there is snow on the ground and then she stays in the vehicle)
We very much appreciate our son and daughter in law who have allowed us to stay in their house (fish and relatives stink in 3days). They haven't asked us to leave yet. Our daughter and son in law visit each evening. Then friends send their love and friendship. Thanks to all of you. You make this trip through cancer tolerable.

Took barbara to olive garden for valentine's day. Need to pick another restaurant next time(poor service)

While standing in line getting medicine refilled gave a gospel coin to a lady who wanted to give it to her son in the middle east. Please pray that people understand where they will spend eternity.

Doctors appointment

Today we met with dr keolo after radiation. We meet with him every Monday. We found out that the MRI showed that the cancer is only on the right side and is not connected to the spinal cord. Nor is the cancer in the left side of the brain. Which is good He thinks that the cancer can be treated effectively with the proton radiation
He said that the treatment will be six week in duration

We praise God that we have been placed in this program. Thank you for your prayers for barbara and I.

Sunday

Today I fixed breakfast for barbara. She did not have very much energy so she took a nap. I went to church. She rested all day. I guess that chemo and radiation are already making her tired. The oncologist called Friday and said that barbara would be getting tired and also because her white blood cell were so high her immune system would not work correctly. I guess that we just need to pray for strength for her. Also that the chemo and radiation will kill the tumors in her head.

For those of you that are not aware of geo-caching. Using the government
Satellites someone hides an item and list the coordinates. That enables anyone with a gps to find the site. There is a log to sign to show that you found the item and also you notify the person that you found his item via the Internet. Usually There are no prizes but only a log to sign. It is just like a
Scavenger hunt. This items are all over the world and barbara enjoys hunting for these items.

Cold Saturday

Barbara didn't feel good. Didn't want to eat. She finally ate and felt a little better. We went to leanna and Brian's house. Barbara rested and knit and I helped leanna do her taxes. They are done. Leanna and brian have his mother living with them. She was in emergency room yesterday. Medicine seemed to help her and she is doing much better.
Pastor Greg from Altamont Kansas asked if he and his wife could visit. They needed to come to OKC to pick up an exchange student that was being moved from her exchange home in chickasha. Was good to spend time with pastor Greg and his wife and meet their new exchange student (cherry) from china.

Received call from oncologist. Barbara's white blood is way high and her platelets are high also. Pray with us that she does not get sick. Her immune system is not working good with the white cell count so high

Remember as Tony Evans used to say "Sunday is coming". Don't forget to go to church and learn what God wants you to do with your life.

Day two

Had a much better day at radiation. Barbara was only on the radiation table 35 minutes. So for the next five and a half weeks we will travel to the radiation site and she will take the treatment. In addition she is taking chemo by pill each night. So far no adverse side affects. I spent most of the time with my insurance liaison She wanted to make sure that barbara is being taken care of and that I know that doctors are available if she begins to have adverse affects from either the radiation or the chemo.
After the treatment we got one more geo-cache. Yes it was cold but we found one geo-cache. Trying to reach 1000 by the time we complete radiation treatment.

Thanks for the prayers we could not function without them

Radiation day

Today we started proton radiation. Took barbara for radiation and they said they were going to use proton radiation. We have an appointment for 2 pm each week day for 6 weeks. Thanks for all the prayers to get us this far. After the radiation I took barbara to find a geo-cache. She has 960 at the present so I figure that if we do one a day we will be close to 1000 by the end of 30 treatments That is one of Barbara's goals.

Spent some time with the banker to get the loan closed on david and Sarah's house.

Expect miracles

Today barbara wanted to go on a field trip with me. I needed to drive to Norman to take care of some business so she I went out for breakfast and then took care of the business. We then visited david and sarah at their work. Barbara said she needed to get out. We had a doctors appt about her general health. Still planning on radiation tomorrow at 2 pm. Pray that the doctors and technicians aim the radiation correctly so the the cancer cells will be killed or slow in their growth.
Barbara had a full day and was ready for bed when I got home from church
God thank you for the miracles in our lives. You are an awesome God. You will never leave us or forsake us. Thank you
